Beauty Brands Aims to Evolve Its Brand Beginning with Cosmetic and Skincare Lines

Company Names Industry Veteran Tara Simon as New Vice President of Merchandising and Supply Chain

Beauty Brands has aggressive plans to grow its cosmetic and skincare product lines, and aims to do it under the experienced hand of Tara Simon, who recently joined the company as vice president of merchandising and supply chain.

Simon brings to Beauty Brands more than 22 years of experience in the beauty industry, which will be a tremendous asset as she leads the company in developing salon exclusive and prestige product lines for color cosmetics, skin, bath and body, and natural and organic products. The company aims to evolve its already successful concept by building on its successful haircare and nailcare categories, and by boosting its skincare and color lines.

“Tara brings to Beauty Brands tremendous expertise in merchandising as well as industry perspective, and she shares our customer-centric philosophy and focus on delivering the best customer experience,” said David Bernstein, chief operating officer for Beauty Brands.

Most recently Simon worked for Sephora, where she served most notably as divisional merchandising manager of color. Simon also led the team that created the company’s private line of bath and body products and managed various areas of Sephora’s business during her tenure, including fragrance, Sephora Brand, and business development. Previously, Simon spent 20 years with Foley’s (a division of May Department Stores) where she managed merchandising for several categories in the company’s cosmetic division.

“Tara’s work is recognized in the beauty industry and it’s no mistake that she has come on board at a time when Beauty Brands has begun to evolve our brand and move our business concept in an exciting direction,” said Bernstein. “We believe Tara will help us enhance the categories in which we’re already very successful, as well as grow into new areas.”
